Plus, these devices are usually rugged and designed to be waterproof, so if you drop one into the sea as you go to cast your line, you can just pick it right back up and it will be as good as new.

On the other hand, if you need a handheld GPS system for use in the car, it is really unlikely that you would need it to be waterproof. Instead, you would want one that has a comprehensive memory that includes all of the streets and alleys in America, so you would never get lost.
